If you are a photographer and you are still using Lightroom 1, run don't walk, run out and get Lightroom 2. It is freaking awesome, if for nothing else other than the local adjustment brush where dodging and burning (as well as other local adjustments) are completely dynamic and non-destructive. It makes dodging and burning in Photoshop just plain clunky and painful by comparison.

At only $99 bucks for the upgrade, if you a do a lot of post capture processing, it is money really well spent.

Here is a link to all the new features (http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshoplightroom/features/).

I concur on the upgrade being very much worth it - but there is a noticeable performance decrease over version 1 in terms of how fast the program runs. The new features will tax your system much more than version 1 did. That said it's still pretty darn fast.

If you are running a MacIntel select the Lightroom icon in the Apps directory and type Command + I to bring up the info window and uncheck the Open in 32 Bit Mode check box and voila next time you open Lightroom you are running in 64 Bit Mode. Wheee... speed increase. :)

I think he knows that, Chealion told me about it in this thread. (http://www.ehmac.ca/anything-mac/67712-lightroom-v-2-a.html)

I've got 19 days left on my demo...I'm really liking this software. Sorry Aperture, I think it'll be Lightroom.

Geesh where have I been, didn't even see that thread. Oh well.

I have 6GB of RAM in my MAC Pro so I have noticed a performance boost in 64 Bit Mode. I really love Lightroom 2 it is a great companion to Photoshop and I find it really cuts down on my editing time, I now only use Photoshop, for design work and getting "creative" with my photographs, pretty much all my tweaking is now done in Lightroom and it is so fast, what with being able to copy settings from one image to another and the like.

Did I say I really love Lightroom 2? :D
