This is my post number one-thousand and I have become an honourable citizen (although it took me many years to achieve this goal). I hope that at least a few of my posts have been honourable and that I am able to live up to this prestiguious title granted to me.

Kudos, james_squared. You have been an honorable member of ehMacLand. Come on over to the Cafe Chez Marc in The Shangri-la thread for a free cup of tea or coffee. Paix, mon ami.

Thanks for the kind words, Dr. G. Perhaps I'll drop by as my last post in the Shangri-la was September 7, 2003!

Even if Dr. G stopped posting today it would take me...let's see here, 1,000 posts in 6 years x 30 to get 30,000 posts is 180 years!

I'm not too sure the Internet will make it that long!

Interesting. I always thought if I posted there I'd never get out. So I never have. You are brave in your restraint!

"Thanks for the kind words, Dr. G. Perhaps I'll drop by as my last post in the Shangri-la was September 7, 2003!" James, we are one big family over in The Shang. No hot debates, just a shared friendship with kindred spirits. Paix, mon ami.

Pretty easy to do when you comment on almost every new post - even when he doesn't have an answer, he always has something to say ...

Perhaps you could devise an Automator application to take care of the gap? beejacon

Thanks for the offer! I might do that one day when I want to increase my post count to a respectable level...

"Thanks for the offer! I might do that one day when I want to increase my post count to a respectable level..." HowEver, some people come for the post count, but stay for the friendship. We have shared tales about births, deaths, marriages, just like one would do at a family reunion. Then, of course, there is that picture of Sinc in his pink outfit .............. but, in the final analysis, he is like our loveable uncle that holds the family together through the tough times.

At least some of us old timers can still spell...when I can find my glasses, that is. My wife thinks I should get glasses attached to a chain. Maybe something like these would be nice?

I thought my spelling was supposed to be getting better with age and experience. Well bugrit.

"I thought my spelling was supposed to be getting better with age and experience." Actually, one becomes a more effective speller the more one reads, just like a person becomes a more effective reader the more one writes.
