Sorry if I havn't searched I'm in a bit of a rush.. Ok so I am using a Panasonic PVGS320 video camera. I go to import into imovie and it only records like a second and then quits importing on me. I closed all other problems so I don't think it is a memory issue.

Thanks

I'm going to use my psychic helmet and say you are using a USB connection/cable to import instead of firewire.

Just kidding about the helmet. But seriously, are you? Because that will import still frames from the Panasonic PVGS320 into iMovie but not the actual video. That has to be done using the firewire port, which (based on the post I saw on the Apple forums) is a little trickier to find.

I'd post my source for this info but it looks like a system error occurred.

Google at a later time --> Panasonic PV GS320 iMovie import problem

And it will probably be the first link once they get the forums up and running again.

Do you have any other firewire devices connected at the same time (even on other ports) ? If so try disconnecting them. Another device might be polling the bus and causing the dropouts .. firewire based cameras are notorious for trying to force a slow bus speed, and hard drive enclosures try to speed it back up to full speed again ... makes for a bad combination :(
