: OLPC Laptops- MIA

Has anyone ordered and/or received a laptop from these guys? I ordered one in Nov 2007 and never got an email or was contacted about it from OLPC or Fedex until I emailed OLPC and they sent me a reference number in March. I used that number to check the Fedex status and called them. They said it looked as though something happened back in January but could no longer open the file on my package because it was "too old" and that OLPC would have to file a claim in order for Fedex to persue this matter any further.

I've emailed OLPC customer support several times with no answer. I have no idea what to do.

Any advice?

Sorry to hear that... we got ours in Jan and I ordered the day they were available.

I have some advice, and I mean this in good spirits: next time you donate $400 to any kind of cause, follow up right away when an ordered item doesn't arrive as expected.

Let OLPC file that Fedex claim, and see what happens.

Mine came in good time, but it took a few phone calls and emails to obtain the free 1 year T-Mobile wireless internet offer.

But don't give up. You should expect OLPC to eventually make good on this.
