: Adding Ram

Hi all
I'm having trouble getting the "door" (hatch... whatever!) off the RAM area of my new iMac. I can get the screw loose but I can't get the door off, all it does is bend out a bit when the screw is loose. Is there something I'm not doing? Do I need to slip a knife blade in and pull, or maybe try with a dental pick? I'm hoping that it just slides and unclips somewhere but I don't want to damage it.
The illustrations always show it just coming off simple as you please:-(
I was hoping to get an extra MB of RAM this weekend and was only trying to see what I have in the first place (looks like 1 GB chip rather than 2 512s)

Any help of advice would be appreciated, I don't want to have to pay someone at FutureShop to do this for me:confused:

Loosen the screw (it does not come out), and then stick something like a dental pick into one of the holes and pry it back and out. It will take a lot to physically damage the RAM cover, so don't be too concerned with that aspect of it. :)

That's the answer I was hoping for, I thought it would take some prying but I didn't want to yank on it too hard until I knew what I was doing, I guess it flexes and has clips at either end!

Cheers:)

Have you undone both screws?

If he has an aluminum-based iMac, there's only a single screw on those models.
