: Can you send emails from your iPhone?

So I upgraded to 1.1.2 and my voicemail indicator is still on even tho. there is no voicemail in the mailbox. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

This is a very different question than your thread title implies, and I'm not sure I fully understand it.

Yes, when I'm on a wifi hotspot I can send and receive emails from my (US, not jailbroken or unlocked) iPhone.

If you're saying your voicemail indicates you have messages when you don't, you're probably misinterpreting. The phone icon shows a indicator on it whenever you:

1. Missed a call that went to voicemail;
2. Missed a call where the caller left no message (thus no voicemail)

I imagine that option 2 is what happened. Check to see if your "recent calls" or "missed calls" logs have any numbers in red.
