Just got off the phone with an Aliant tech who did quite well with my Mac. The trick was to boot out of Leopard and into Tiger. Good thing I had a clone on my external hard drive. In Leopard, we couldn't get into the router to set the wireless settings. We went to Network Settings but there was no "Show" tab under "Locations." In that Show tab, there is built in ethernet which allows you then to get into the router/modem. Leopard has no such tabs. Just "Locations". Not sure what's happening in Leopard, but by booting into Tiger, I was able to bring up those Network tabs and get into the Router settings. Alas- wireless throughout the house. I felt kind of shameful when I hed to leave Leopard to get things right. Anyone else have some input here?
