Hi Folks, I've got a laserwriter select 360 hooked up to my belkin router via an asante appletalk>ethernet adaptor. It works wirelessly with my iBook g4, but not with my new mac book pro.

Both have 10.4.10 on them, both have appletalk turned on for airport. No matter what I try the printer will not appear in the printer setup program. I had to print a document tonight and I had to dig up the iBook and enable printer sharing on it to print my stuff!

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Jason: You're sure that you have the driver installed on the MBP? It may have been a holdover from an old installation on your iBook.

The driver must be there, its part of the essential system software package on OS X.

How so 'must be there'? I have a complete and completely vanilla OSX 10.4.10 on a 2gHz MBP 15" and both a Spotlight search and a manual combing through the Library folder finds NO reference to "Laserwriter" anywhere... I have certainly done nothing to remove any part of the OS install.

Did you try looking in /system/library/printers/PPDs/contents/resorces/en.lproj ?

I found LaserWriter Select 360.gz sitting right there.

Any other ideas? This one has really got me stumped.

Hopeful bump that can save me from buying a new printer.
