Just checking on the value of my Power Mac G5 1st gen 1.8 GHz with 1.5 gigs of ram along with a 160 gig drive and a 250 gig drive. It is in perfect shape. Comes with keyboard and all original hardware, software and boxes.

Over a year since I posted this. I'm guessing the same specs would bring $700?

I just paid $1399 for a G5 tower with 2 gig ram, dual core, 2.02 processor, dvd optical burner, 230 gig hd, software, tiger.

no keyboard, no mouse, no monitor, from a dealer who does only mac in large volume. I believe he will stand behind the product though.

Probably paid too much, but I had to get rolling again as my G4 power supply crapped out and it was going to be $150 to replace it with a used one, no warranty.

Mac2sell.net lists this as $730 (http://www.mac2sell.net/permalink/?id=ea7674fb1507e1b6c1811b1105271b44), although I frequently say Mac2Sell lists things pretty high on what they're worth.

Thanks for the link. Good for reference.

Went there and put in what I have and it says its worth $860. but that site only "quotes" prices, doesn't actually sell them (correct me if I'm wrong?) or have any in stock.

Try find one for sale at that price in a hurry that you don't have to wait a week, from someone reputable, (the company I bought from has been selling macs for years) that is less than an hour away so you can pick it up or have it fixed there if something goes wrong. That, let alone doing all the research, contacting sellers, going through all the motions, hassle, phone calls, driving out to see them etc. etc.

Kind of like real estate, you have a purchase price in mind, but if the house you want is not available for sale?... thats a different kettle of fish.

you know Mac2sell.net is great and all but it doesnt ask if you have more than one hard drive. OR what video card you have in the machine, big difference between a stock geforce 5200 for example and an ati X800, they should really update the site a bit...
