: Macromedia Studio MX 2004 Issue

Since upgrading to 10.4.8, my licensed copy of MX Studio 2004 no longer functions. If I open any application of the Studio MX (Dreamweaver, Fireworks, etc.), it just hangs. ("Application not responding.") Trashed all the related preference files, along with the applications, and reinstalled - no difference. Updated to the latest versions - no change. I downloaded a trial of Studio MX 8, which worked fine. Do I really need to pay $500.00 to upgrade to get a working version for this version of Mac OS X? Any help would be appreciated.

MX isn't compatible, but 2004 is supposed to be.

I know. Have tried the Macromedia MX 2004 7.2 updater?

Running the latest versions.

Update: Problem resolved. I didn't perform the most obvious troubleshooting step - restarting the computer. ;) (I never restart or shutdown the computer, and always have more than a dozen applications open at anytime performing tasks, so I try to prevent restarting at any cost - bad idea!) Seems to have fixed the problem. Windows in the Finder sometimes appear to hang randomly, however. I think there may be some underlying problem at fault here. Nonetheless, once I get my data backed up nice and securely, I'll be able to sleep peacefully. :)
