hey all,

i've encountered this issue with two seperate sony cameras using sony memory stick pro's.

with both, if i try to import them into iphoto, it just crashes and removes the camera from the finder (i get the "you removed a device without ejecting it" error). when i try with aperture, I get the error "ICA download error -9905". i've tried googling and came up with nothing.

if browser the memory card on the finder, i can view the directory structure fine and see all the files. the moment i click on one of the photos, it immedately ejects the card from the finder and gives the same error. i also get an error from preview saying it cant read the photo.

the photos can be viewed fine on windows, however.

any ideas what's causing this?

Have you tried using a card reader instead to rule out whether it's the camera itself turning itself off? Another thing you can try is to format the card and see if that alleviates issues, but I doubt it will since you've seen it on two cameras. I'd try using a card reader (you should be able to pick one up for $20 pretty easily) as it will also save you time having to plug the camera into the computer and it won't eat the batteries in the camera.
