i've heard people mention this problem on messageboards but i was never able to get a real solution out of them. but my cursor likes to disappear very frequently especially when i'm surfing. does anyone know how to fix this problem without switching browsers? i'd really prefer to use safari as it's most reliable, at least for me, except for the disappearing cursor act. i'm not sure if this also happens with other browsers, but i've only tried using others (firefox/camino/shiira) for a very short period of time before returning to safari. thanks.

I don't think it is a Safari issue. My cursor also disappears while using text programs like Appleworks and MS word without Safari even running. It started after the last few updates of Tiger.

Would this have anything to do with having the "Avoid Accidental Trackpad Input" selected in System Prefs? On my system, that always makes the cursor vanish while typing, and it takes a second or two to reappear once I touch the trackpad again...

I had "ignore accidental trackpad input" checked.

I unchecked it and will report whether or not it changes anything. Stay tuned. :)
