I just had this thought, and don't know if it's possible or not . . . but this would not be a good thing, no?

Technically, sure. Legally, no. Apple won't allow you to run OS X on a non-Apple computer.

Exactly what Atroz said, even though it would be technically possible, it is not possible legally. You cannot purchase an OS X for Intel in a store, and even if you could, the agreement states that you're not allowed to use it on any other than Mac hardware.

Technically, I would say no. The Mac OS makes certain hardware calls to validate the hardware it is running on. In a virtualized environment, the calls would go unanswered, therefore the Mac OS wouldn't run. If they tried to incorporate hardware emulation to trick the OS, Apple legal would be all over them for copyright infringment.
