Applied the Firmware Update to our demo MacBook Pro 2.0GHz - didn't reslove the whining issue.

ive read that this firmware update has helped with a 'waking from sleep' issue on some of the intel minis. i have also seen no signs that it was fixed the MBP whine issues.

Hi,

I've read that booting into XP eliminates the whine.:)

I thought it caused whining.

FWIW, the .0.1 update that was released (compared to the original update earlier this month) is just to make it work in more localizations. (aka other country setups outside of English - United States)

Are you sure that wasn't specifying which machine and OS language the update is compatible with?

WorldIRC - This update is for *insert type of Intel Mac here* computers with Intel processors only.
It now runs on localized systems that use languages that read right to left

But just where that comment is placed...I think its just talking about a system requirement for the UPDATE to run...otherwise, what does IT mean...it's just not placed properly for it to say that thats what the update actually updates.

What bothers me is that the Apple site does not say what this update _fixes_
Give me a reason to take the risk...
