: So I Just Slightly Dented My New Powerbook

As the title states, I was cleaning my room and a small wooden surf board I had purchased from Dominican fell off the shelf and onto my powerbook *ouch* Now there is a small dent on the upper left corner(right on the speaker) I was just wondering if this can easily be popped out? I was thinking of unscrewing the two slots on the top and attempting to pop it out. I wanted some opinions on this. Not so much for resale value, but the fact that now everytime I use this beautiful machine, that dent laughs me in the face. Any thoughts?

NO!!!!!!

It's not such a good idea to try to "pop" the dent back out. It might worsen the situation. :/

Leave well enough alone. Consider it a "personal touch" ;)

The top of my PowerBook is scratched to hell from a ride in my bag it took with my camera. It doesn't bother me in the slightest for the same reason scratching the paint on a truck doesn't bother me:

I buy them to use, not to look at.

The casing is made out of aluminum and it won't just "pop out." Trust me, I've tried this before for clients, and it has never worked.

Ya you will only make matters worse, aluminum is too soft and you will not be happy with the results and worse you may not get it to fit back together again.

About 6 months after I got my PB (this is going back about 2 years but the aftershocks keep on rumbling with me) it fell off the bed about 2 feet onto the carpeted floor. It landed on the power plug where it goes into the power port on the side of the PB. Result - one fubared power lead and a puckered "Why me?" look to the power port. I feel I got off lightly. It only cost a new power lead, and everything still works perfectly.
No-one except me is any wiser, or sadder of course, but it still nips when I see it.

I wouldn't try to do anything about it myself, Smokeyj, and unless there is a fault with your PB's operation best thing is to grit your teeth and live with it. Join the club. :o

Sorry to hear about that, Snapple. I guess I wont be doing anything to it; you guys are right, I bought it to use it not look at it, and after all, it's not that bad. :)

My first 12" ALBook I had for a day before my other half dropped a picture frame on it while dusting. The pain does go away with time, believe me.

Add one to the top right and create a matching set. ;)
