Hi, Was at a freinds place and he has Caller-ID on his TV via the 3100 bell Receiver, Love it. Is there any way to get Caller-ID with a receiver that doesn't have call display features.
Thanks for any info

No. But, most receivers support it, and anything you've been able to buy in the last few years does.

Alternatively... let's say you have a Series 60 / Symbian operating system cellphone that has bluetooth, and a bluetooth enabled Mac.
If you have BluePhoneElite (http://www.reelintelligence.com/BluePhoneElite/), voila, callers and their numbers are announced on your Mac's screen in that greyed out sort of overlay that is supposed to be less annoying than, say, a ringing phone or flashing lights on a tv show.
Enjoy.

Here's a neat program for Macs with internal modems.

It's easy to put on a Mac with a modem (even with OS8~9). As for TV, you're much better off getting a supported receiver. The example that kevkwas found forces you to use the composite connector (crappy video) or special S-Video adapter, which I'm sure won't be a bargain.
Unless you're pirating the signal, sticking with a Bell 2700 (for example) probably isn't worth the effort. A new, compatible receiver probably would be less expensive than add-on options. And if you are pirating, I suggest you either forget about call display or change your ways; the phone line will give you away.
