Hi Friends
I am wondering what web radio radio stations you listen to.
Please feel free to include the link and your reasons for tuning into these stations.
You might like to post about your favourite genres or a specific station.

Well, okay, I'll go first;
I mostly listen to Ambient internet radio, found under the iTunes radio links. For late night surfing/email writing, this is like a galactic backdrop for my computer connection to the world.
In the day, I might listen to Electronica stations.

And you?

For "alternative" music, KEXP in Seattle is one of the best Web radio stations; you can run their 128-bit MP3 stream right from your iTunes when you click on the appropriate link on their homepage:

San Francisco's Soma FM can also service your alternative and ambient needs:

For jazz and blues, I highly recommend KPLU Tacoma/Seattle:

Great classical music -- and late-night strangeness via Brave New Waves -- can be heard on the CBC Radio 2 stream:

I also love to listen to hockey games on NHL.com Radio:

Sadly, most need either WMP or Real Player. Too bad most don't offer QT versions of their streams.

Yeah, I've emailed CBC in the past about this. I wrote something along the lines of "I am surprised that an organisation so associated with high standards would limit its listeners to shoddy Microsoft audio technology. Please offer Quicktime to your listeners and viewers."

But I digress. Great links, MacYak! What about the rest of you?

www.philosomatika.com - Also available through iTunes. Some of the best GOA Psy-Trance on the web. 160kbps.. Watch it though.. you'll go crazy eventually ;)

On the "iTunes/QT" debate. It boggles my mind as well. Setting up a shoutcast server is completely free. And.. really really easy. Oh well. :) Guess they're just not quite worth listening to yet ;)

Right now I am hooked on Luxuria Music (http://luxuriamusic.com/) a very fun station. It plays lounge, jazz, breezy swinging instrumentals and vocals, groovy 60's go-go and 70’s Bollywood soundtracks, psychedelia, quirky oddities, retro pop, surf music and other odd things. It seems everyone who checks it out either loves it or completly hates it :D

I play it at work and when people pass my office once and awhile I get someone sticking their head in and asking what the heck it that! It keeps me sane :D enter the lounge (http://s91675425.onlinehome.us/media/streams/Mp3/itunes.pls) and enjoy!

Ever since my iTunes collection ballooned up to 7 gigs I haven't had a whole lot of time for net radio. (Getting a half a dozen classical CDs as a gift set really helped get things rolling).

But I do download the ABC news podcast and the CBC 3 podcast and I try to listen to them every few days.

I like www.globalpopconspiracy.com . It's a pretty eclectic mix of everything, but mostly indie music. The best part is there's no talking, or ads.

If you decide to take a break from music for a bit, I've found this station is worth a good listen once in a while: http://www.radicalradio.com/

www.di.fm (digitally imported) is for you if you are into dance music (ie: trance, vocal trance, house) and are listed on iTunes radio. They also have a New age and Classical channel which are pretty good.
