what's the easiest way to rotate an image, keep in mind I'm trying NOT to use iPhoto, it seems to make multiple copies thumbnails etc of the same pic , I don't want my pictures folder clutter with folders that are named after dates and sometimes 4 or 5 folders deep to grab a pic. I could have SWORE that in my old Mini with Panther I could do it in finder with a simple right click. Am I insane? Now it's damn near impossible to rotate ONE picture without opening a program saving renaming overwriting or accidentally resizing.

Help. I CAN do it, I would just LOVE to be able to do it right from Finder, am I dreaming?

Not at all! Under Tiger, Preview can do all this. Just open the image using Preview, and under the Tools menu, choose what you want. Once happy, just close the window and Preview will ask if you want to overwrite the photo with the changes.

If you want to make a copy, once done making changes, use the Save As command instead and save with a different file name (this also allows you to change the format and other options).

BUT I just tried in Preview and the thumbnail in Finder is still sideways I rotated around and around and saved right side up, still sideways....

REALLY annoying!

Try Shoebox from Kavasoft.com, it works like a charm.
