In one of the recent MacAddict, MacWorld or macHome I saw a steup for Turntables that hook up to your mac and allow you to scratch with the included software on the computer.
Anybody know what this is?

It's called Final Scratch (http://www.finalscratchmusic.com/).
It ain't cheap, but I've heard nothing but good stuff.
Basically it comes with records that have timecode printed on them and the software inturprets that timecode when you scratch and plays it out. It works with Traktor software, which is probably the best DJ'ing software on the Mac.

i use traktor without setting up turntables or final scratch and i love it. can't actually "scratch" though. but i don't so it's ok! great for mixing house/electro/hip hop/techno/what-have-you.
