I have a feeling the reason I can't migrate a user from one G4 to another using Tiger is that one or both likely require a firmware update.

The source G4 does display the transfer by firewire icon, but the destination G4 just sits there "calculating" the time required. I did this on another G4, actually going from a G4 to a G5, and it took very little time to calculate. We're talking a wait of more than 20 minutes to see what would happen.

Can anyone shed any light on the firmware updates? A few that I have found appear to be for newer models. The two G4s in question are the original greyish G4s, not the later chromed-out models.
