When i try to use two finger scrolling on my new powerbook, it seems to make web browsers go back and forward. It appears as though a circular finger motion can trigger htis but it is very sensitive so it is hard to avoid. Any idea how this can be avoided, it is very annoying and makes this feature almost unusable for me in a web browser. I checked the preferences but did not see a specific option to stop the trackpad from being stupid.

Thanks
Patrick

Did you check:

Preferences>Keyboard & Mouse>Trackpad

My advice as well would be to get a mouse whenever possible. I just got the Logitech MX310 Optical Mouse. As much as i like the trackpad, having the mouse has made a big difference.

Hope that helps.

I checked the preferences, no luck. I would prefer to solve this with a mouse-less solution if possible.

Sorry i don't know what that might be. Hopefully someone else here can help.

Thought I would bump this to the top and see if anybody has any ideas. I'm still having the same problem and I cannot find an option to turn it off.

Dunno if this might help or not, but have you tried "resetting" the trackpad using the method outlined in step 3 here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301047
