: Wireless USB adapters...

I am quite close to buying a Mini and need it to have a wireless internet solution. There is no sense in the Airport card because I will only require wireless for another few months so a low cost USB adapter seems to be the way to go.

A search on this board brought up the D-link DWL-122 but it is no longer available anywhere (at a reasonable price). I am looking for something < $50 but am having alot of trouble finding any that are Mac compatible.

If anyone has any suggestions or info their input would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

Hi Maegelin,

I have recently purchased a Mac Mini and I was just too cheap to buy the airport. I ordered my DWL-122 direct from D-link for something around $50 with shipping. It arrived fairly quickly and works great. Try http://www.d-linkshop.ca/products.php?PID=158

Not a <$50 device, but you could consider a wireless Ethernet bridge. Like the Asus WL-330g. 3com and DLink also have them. Also called Pocket Access Points. You should be able to get one for around $80 I'd say.

I use the Asus WL-330g on my Mac. It has to be configured initially on a PC, but once that's done you can use it on a Mac (or other Ethernet device) without issue. I'm not sure if the 3Com or Dlink devices are more "Mac Friendly" or not.
