Willy Z Apr 3rd, 2005, 05:46 PM It's a new community that was created recently.
it's mostly for Quebec , and everything's in french...
I think we should take a look there.

(and no, i'm not part of it yet, I just wanted to share that info among Mac users ;)
trump Apr 3rd, 2005, 05:49 PM it was actually part of ehMac at one time, but then there was a referendum and they separated - sad day it was

cottageboy Apr 3rd, 2005, 06:12 PM lol. nice. If i spoke french I'd be there now.
DP004 Apr 3rd, 2005, 06:53 PM I use both sites and my first idea was to share with them the great list of freeware that started back on March 25th on ehMac.
iPetie Apr 3rd, 2005, 07:38 PM Like the layout of the site, I don't frequent that many forums but it reminds me of the apparently dead EhMac Mac OS X theme.
Nice!
sccoaire Apr 3rd, 2005, 08:00 PM I love the slogan, awesome!! (La pomme, je me souviens)
trump Apr 3rd, 2005, 08:23 PM the apple, I remember? My french is a bit rusty...
uwbill Apr 3rd, 2005, 09:58 PM the apple, I remember? My french is a bit rusty...
it reminds me when i asked my girlfriend what "je me souviens" means on the Quebec car plates, she said it means "I will remember"... and i was wondering... does that translate to "hay, don't follow me too close or kiss my ass, I WILL REMEMBER"
Vexel Apr 4th, 2005, 07:21 AM They haven't argued in courts to have it changed to MaQ yet? hehehe :)
(joke)
sccoaire Apr 4th, 2005, 03:04 PM Yeah, "Je Me Souviens" is from the license plate... although I'm sure its meaning is pacifistic and kind in all sense of the words, I've always believed it meant "I remember our history, what we lost, and what we had to fight for to keep"...
iMatt Apr 4th, 2005, 03:13 PM "Je me souviens que né sous le lys, je croîs sous la rose."
"I remember: born under the lily [fleur-de-lys/France], I flourish under the [English] rose."
"Flourish" might not be the best choice there; "grow" is more literal.
It was first put on the licence plates by a PQ government, but it's open to a number of readings, from hard separatist (we're flourishing in spite of the English) to deep Canadian nationalist (we remember our French heritage and thank the English for helping preserve it).
Here's a long article on it that looks interesting, though I don't have time to read it now:
