Hello All,

I'm looking for a good, low-priced, web-host. The web-host needs to be able to register my '.ca' domain as well.

Links and input would be appreciated. :)

Try www.dollarhost.com I've been using them now for over 6 years for various websites with very few problems.

I'll second the recommendation for ehosting.ca - good response time for any issues (only one billing one, no complaints about downtime at all!). They have a special on now, too and .ca domain registration seems cheap with them as well

The ehosting vendor looks great! I've signed up, and chosen their New Years deal. I've also chosen the MySQL with 3 databases option. Can someone please tell me how I can go about setting up a cool discussion board like this one? I hear the software is free?...and that's it's fairly easy to setup.

Your help is appreciated! :)

the one ehmac is using is vbulletin which costs money. others choose to go with ubb.classic (old emac site and current macmagic.ca site) which costs as well. there are free ones available. try googling it.

Vbullitin can be used for free. I got my web hosting from Lindmar on this board and part of the package includes systems like this. I have two different BBSs running, one for family and one for a ski club. Easy to set up and operate but you can't customize if you don't get the paid version.

My mistake, Vbulletin may not be usable for free. One of the ones I am using is Invision and the other is PHPBB. Both are fine for simple set-up but the Invision PowerBoard offers calendar features (which is why I use it for the ski team).

good luck

New to web hosting. If I want to upload a 5 minutes QT video to ehosting.ca, what plan should I subscribe?

I use eHosting.ca as well and love them.
I have the Start-Up pacakge for $6/mo and at one point had 5-6 videos up there, ranging from 2min-7min in length (It will all depend on your compression settings really)
