When I reboot, I get a square with a World in it. Then it flashes the finder for a sec and then a question mark. It just started doing this. Anyone know why or how to fix it? If not i'll just reformat. The battery only goes to 99% as well. errr

The easiest way to fix that problem is to choose your startup disk again. The icon, means that it is originally looking on your network for a network boot server.
As for the battery not reaching 100%, it's a common bug. I know on my Powerbook, it will reach 100%, but if it is turned off or put to sleep it will drop to 99% as for some reason it thinks it is *just* under 100%, so it has to report 99.
I hope that helps some.

Thanks it worked. I was messing around with the startup. I just didn't put two and two together. Thanks I was looking for OS9 but I guess these new iBooks are only OSX. I did notice thatr you can use OS 9 in OSX though. smile.gif

As for the 99%, my ibook was doing the same thing. I finally fixed it when I did a thourogh maintenance on it. I used Cocktail to empty caches, run cron scripts. I repaired permissions and reset the PMU also. Its been fine ever since.

I used both Cocktail and onyX and still 99%. How do I reset the PRAM again? I did it before but it has since sliped my mind.
Thanks

I believe the issue with the battery is not really an issue... according to Apple this is normal.

hope that helps!
