: Upgrade incomplete?

Hi,
I'm new to this site and this is my first post.

I recently bought an iMac Blueberry 350MHz which I recently upgraded to OSX 10.3 with OEM disks (3 disks). I believe the installation was incomplete. I only used the first CD. The other 2 CDs were never used. It appears that the operating system is working properly but the Classic OS was never installed. When I insert the CD into the CD-ROM nothing happens, it doesn't appear to be recognized by the OS and the Eject button is grayed out. How do I know if a full install of OSX was indeed performed? If the installation of OSX was successful but not all other programs were installed, how do I finish doing the installation?
I thank you for your assistance in advance.
Frank

Depending on the options you select, the first disk is sometimes all you need. If you chose not to install a bunch of extra language files and printer drivers, all is probably as it should be.

As for the Classic Environment, (OS 9) it isn't included with retail copies of OS X - if you want it, you have to install it yourself from another source.

Welcome Frank.

I believe the topic "10.3 on iMav DV" (just 5 or 6 topics below yours) has the answer. Updated 9.1 - 9.2.2 must reside on the computer before installing Panther. Let us know if this helps. Cheers BY

Not all install use all three disks, depending on the language and the machine you may not use all three. Most of the time two, just one is a little odd.

Here is a link:

Down near the bottom you will see a question
Where is OS 9?

Hi, I had to wipe my drive clean before the OSX installation (though I did upgrade the OS to 9.2.2 and I upgraded the firmware before the OSX installation) because the previous owner had hundreds of useless icons all over the place. He also had OS folders in Applications and Utilities folders plus the original OS9 was the french version but all updates were taken from english sources which created duplicate folders of everything in the System folder (some french some english). The original OS9 CD I was given is in French so I prefer not to use that CD again.
When I did the OSX installation, it created a "Classic" folder in System.
My questions now are: Do I now have to buy English OS9 installation CDs to have "Classic" run on my iMac? Do I have to wipe my drive, partition it and then re-install OSX and OS9 (each on a different partition)? Can I install OS9 on an external drive to avoid re-partitioning and re-installing OSX and OS9 on the internal drive?
I thank you for your assistance in advance,
Frank
