Hey everyone. I just got my new iBook (thanks again imactheknife!!) and I took it to school today and got tons of usage out of the battery under X.2 (more than 3 hours with 0:55 remaining on the meter) and I just want to know what the best way to preserve my battery life is. Should I try to drain the battery fully before plugging in and let it charge full again? Or should I just plug in whenever and charge and disconnect whenever? Does it makes a difference? I just want to make sure that this awesome battery charge life doesn't only last for a month or two.... I want it to last for a while because having a good charge is important to me. And, the way it looks, I'll get 4 hours out of this charge!!

Thanks!

That's one of the best things about the G3 iBook. It gets great battery life and runs cool.

The new G4 iBooks will be interesting. I imagine they'll run hot

I think the PMU does a good job of maintaining a charge, but you should try to fully drain the battery periodically. That'll keep your 4-hour life :D

hey Neema, the battery is great in that unit! also your battery will last longer if you keep the brightness down a bit as well when your away from the plug in....check in the energy saver control panels for more info for battery power...I think I adjusted it abit but I am not sure if you have done a clean install or not...glad to see you are happy with it!...talk to you later, Mark
