Are @me.com email addresses being discontinued? Will they stop working at some point unless a user has moved to iCloud?

You'll need to migrate the account to iCloud to keep the account alive, but you won't have to change emails.

Like @mac.com emails, they will still work for people with existing accounts. Once @icloud.com emails start becoming available, Apple likely won't allow you to create any more @me.com accounts.
