I installed the new version of Safari last night (still on Lion) and discovered that I can't read my RSS feeds in it anymore. When I click on one of them, it switches to Mail to read it. Then, when I click on a topic, it sends me back to Safari. This is nuts.
Is there a way to get Safari to take back the RSS feeds?

Nope, this feature was taken out of Safari & Mail.app in OS X Mountain Lion. I suggest you find another RSS app to read your various feeds.
May I suggest NetNewsWire (http://netnewswireapp.com/mac)? It's a great RSS reader that is great at looking at your feeds. I used to use it a lot before, but now I use Twitter & Pocket for keeping up with news and so on.

Reeder is also very good.

Yeah, this six.
I use Reeder, but for quick glances at my TV shows that are ready, I don't want them clumped in with my actual news. The bracket with the number of new was perfect.

Now, if only someone could find a solution to return Google to the right of the URL line to avoid erasing the current URL every time you want to use Google. For now I put a link into my bookmarks bar to circumvent that Apple foolishness.

You could just add a tab and use google on another page and keep your page with the URL intacted.

I just found an extension that will put the RSS button back in the URL line, although it opens the feed in an external browser, like NetNewwire.
Here's the link to the developer's blog.

Okay the unified URL bar is infuriating.
Is there a gosh darn .com button so it stops googling sites I type in?
