: Is anyone using "Web Site Check" software like McAfee Site Advisor?

Every once in a while there is a brief 'scare' about a web site being infested with a trojan or other mal ware that will be downloaded if one goes to that web site.

I realize there is not too much to worry about with the Mac, but if software like McAfee can prevent that without causing other issues, why not install that?

Does anyone have practical experience in that area?
What's the general consensus about doin that.

Personally, I used WOT's plugin with Firefox on my old PC laptop way back then and it seemed fine to use. However, I haven't gotten around to using them anymore. Security is becoming an increased concern no doubt.

I have used McAfee Site Advisor as well and it runs quite similarly. Personally, I think using these services is up to personal preference and whether you want the added security.
