I am trying to print an envelope using one of the templates in Pages. I have chosen the Elegant. The problem is when I go to print the left side of the envelope is cut off. I can't seem to find any settings to allow me to change something that will make it stop cutting off.

The printer I am using is the HP Officejet Pro 8500 Premier. I am also using Pages '09.

Any help?

In the printer dialogue, what paper / envelope size do you have selected?

Do you have any other apps you can try this with? i'm just wondering if its a software issue or a problem with the printer its self. Have you been ok doing this in the past?

This is the first time I have tried on Mac to be honest. What I ended up doing is moving the graphic by unlocking the graphic and moving it to the right. The happened on the letter template of the same name where it would cut off the bottom somimhad to choose edge to edge for it to print it all properly. Don't know if it is the printer or Pages as I found others on the Internet that had the same issue but the only solution was to purchase some other software for just envelopes.

Hmmm... I've tried using the same settings setup you suggested multiple times to various printers, and I even tried goofing up any graphics used with the settings you described. I'm using SL 10.6.8 and iWorks '09 Pages and they all print as laid out.

PS: I'm a bit confused with your comment: "This is the first time I have tried on Mac to be honest."

What else were you using???

Word with Windows.

Hmmm.. I'm not sure I'm understanding your problem or reply.

Maybe try shutting down and boot up using your OS X only and try again for your original post problem.

@ Joker Eh

You might try "printing" as a pdf file just to see if the entire image is in the file, and if so, I would double check your printer settings.

I assume you have printed other material to this printer from your Mac.

Does the printer have fixed margins?

If all else fails, give up on Pages - give something like Ambrosia's Easy Envelopes (http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/easyenvelopes-mac/) a try (formerly a widget, now a full-fledged Mac App)

Just love your comment "give up on Pages"!!

Maybe one fine day Apple may get around to updating their 'AppleWorks' app that just plain worked.

What else did most users need within a single application: Word processor, Spreadsheet, Database, Drawing, Painting or Presentation, and most all interactive and/or inclusive, including even addressing various size envelopes with various options.

I'd say that Apple blew it by not updating AppleWorks, and did so big time.

No argument from me there. Right now, an update of the iWork suite (is it still a "suite" now that Apple is selling them separately?) seems about as likely as an update to AppleWorks... If Apple comes out with a point-release update to it's iWork apps for iCloud / Mountain Lion compatibility this week (?), I may just lose it...
