My RMBP acts just as my old i5 MBP acted, save for the Adobe Indesign problems. Well acts the same, but is blazing fast.

This issue with iTunes, I are you saying you have it in full screen mode, then switch to a new desktop and go back, iTunes is messed up?

I tried recreating the problem but could not on my RMBP. I did not install the last MBP update, the large 1 gig one as that was having issues with Adobe CS6. Maybe its something with that that causes the problem. But again, on my end, no issues with iTunes or any other app in this regard.

Did you put your desktop in 1920x1200 mode by any chance?

I think I may just roll the dice and order it. Mountain goat will be out by the time I get it and if problems are still present I'll return it and get a regular MBP or refurb 17.

I'll try it when I get back home (travelling right now). I've never been really comfortable using multiple desktops on one display (perhaps I'm old school, but I prefer multiple displays :) ) so I haven't run into this problem.

No. This was happening in "best for retina" setting 1440x900, however switching it to "more space" aka 1920x1200 displayed itunes properly.

The iTunes problem was probably because people had been playing around the resolution and maximized the iTunes window while on a higher resolution. Makes sense with such a public machine.

I had absolutely no problems with my Retina MBP when I had it, other than the fact that there are SO few "retina" optimized apps. Other than the Apple Core (Safari, Preview, Finder, Mail) and Sparrow, pretty much nothing I use on a daily basis was "retina" and therefore looked terrible. Which is why I'm typing this on my Trusty MacBook Air and the Retina Display MBP has gone back to Apple. ;) Hopefully by the time most Apps are retina, the 13" RMBP will have come out and I can switch to that. ;)
