hya Jul 12th, 2012, 07:50 PM I'm wondering which DNS is best?
I can't choose a best DNS services! :(
Please votes to give the best option! :)
Or tell me about your offer :)
SINC Jul 12th, 2012, 08:54 PM History has shown that public polls are notorious for ehmacers failure to respond. ;)
rgray Jul 12th, 2012, 08:57 PM   Beware! THIS POLL IDENTIFIES USER NAMES WITH VOTES!!

dona83 Jul 12th, 2012, 09:29 PM I don't even bother using what I chose, only if something's wrong with my own DNS. :)
ldphoto Jul 12th, 2012, 09:55 PM unblock.us; allows my to use US Netflix and Pandora, among others.
pm-r Jul 13th, 2012, 01:24 AM Maybe try using the older "Namebench" app that still seems to work to establish the best recommended and fastest DNS server options, but it can take a bit if fiddling and renaming to get things working optimally and may need to be started and tried later with a new "scan".

Download namebench for Mac - Find faster DNS servers. MacUpdate.com (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/32784/namebench/)
hya Jul 13th, 2012, 04:28 AM Oops! I'm sooooo sorry :(:(
I can't change poll' setting!
Administrators could change the poll-settings? Or make new topic? :)

macintosh doctor Jul 13th, 2012, 08:32 AM voted for open dns
as it is easier to manage several different IP locations at once and I feel I can sleep better at night knowing google isn't knowing what I am preventing and what my IPs are..
OPENdns is very easy to use and has great GUI for their portal.
only advantage google has it is easy to remember .
HowEver Jul 13th, 2012, 09:15 AM Thanks to the OP. This is a very interesting question.
I'm considering unblock.US or something like it, so it's good to know that others out that are using it and it works.
unblock.us; allows my to use US Netflix and Pandora, among others.
hya Jul 13th, 2012, 10:31 AM I using Norton and OpenDNS on own router but not works!!
Dashboards of these check my router but not found DNS servers!! :|
pm-r Jul 13th, 2012, 02:15 PM I using Norton and OpenDNS on own router but not works!! ... ... :|
Yikes, "using Norton"!!! And WHY???
Maybe it's the cause of things not working for you. ;)
Paddy Jul 14th, 2012, 11:39 AM I just use my ISP's - Rogers - because in Namebench tests, it came out faster than OpenDNS or Google, both of which I have used at times.
As for Unblock Us - smarter faster VPN (http://unblock-us.com/) (note hyphen, not period!) it's not free after the first month. $4.99 US/month - so you'd definitely want to be sure that you were actually going to be using Netflix or other US-based services. Of course, Netflix in the US is far, far superior to the really lame Canadian version.
The G3 Man Jul 14th, 2012, 03:56 PM I use my own DNS, run by my old PowerBook o_O
