Hello all,

Just wondering is anyone has any experience with vpn spoofing? I see a number of companies out there but not sure about the integrity of them. Anyone have any experience and who would you recommend.

VPN spoofing?

You'll have to elaborate, as I've never heard of such a thing.

I think they mean connecting to the internet through a VPN so that places you visit on the web think you're connecting from a location of your choosing, rather than the one dictated by your IP address.

I am sure he is referring to an IP address simulator like Hotspot Shield for example. I have never had any consistency using such a program.

Hi Sinc, that is what I am referring to. I have been told that I can login to areas such as US Netflix, PBS and others, even sites in the UK if I use these types of programme/sites .

Yup - I use HotSpot Shield. Works for what I need it to do... it gives me a USA IP address. Would like to find a way to get a Canadian IP address, though, to watch some CBC and other restricted content.

I have used a few, bandwidth tends to be an issue with most when it comes to streaming videos. The good side is that with Netflix you can disconnect from the VPN once the stream has started and it will continue to play at full quality without skipping.

I've recently discovered an alternative to vpns for this that uses DNS servers. So far it seems to work better to me and be more hassle free.

I'm just looking in to it, but it looks like Unblock Us (http://unblock-us.com/) will allow you to do not just US but Canadian, UK and others... May just be for NetFlix.

I use a service called PureVPN (http://www.purevpn.com/). I use it for work to vary my IP address for private FTP servers, but the other benefit it has is that you can connect through different geographical IPs for locations all over the globe. Connecting through one of the US IP addresses will allow you to browse US only content, like Netflix. I use it to watch BBC and Channel 4 online.

I tried UnblockUS with Netflix and it worked fine. I let it expire, though, because I have already acquired a taste for the content on Canadian Netflix.

There are two I'm aware of, UnoDNS™ - Watch Netflix USA, Hulu, Pandora, BBC iPlayer, and more in anywhere you live! (http://www.unotelly.com/unodns/) is paid so I haven't used it. And tunlr.net (http://tunlr.net/) which is free.
