My Norton anti virus has found a virus on one of my drives and says it does not have permission to it. The other drive has had the virus and it was purged. I am curious to how to get my blocked drive to have 'system' show up as well so it can do the repair - see my attachment -(at least I am assuming that is the problem) thanks in advance

Uninstall anything from Norton/Symantec, and repair system permissions.

Problem solved.

Norton didn't find viruses. There are no such thing on your Mac.

Uninstall it while you can. I tried Norton 10 years ago and it was a horror show to uninstall. It's complete garbage. Do this now.

Couldn't agree more.

I made the same mistake years ago as well and had Norton on the Mac.

If you want to check for malware, run ClamXav
ClamXav (http://www.clamxav.com/)

It's slow but it doesn't mess up your Mac - the viruses it might find, if any, are Windows ones that you inherited from your Windows friends.
