hello everyone,
i am a newby here, and new to imac and not so capable on a keyboard! Lol!!
sorry if it sounds dumb,

i have an older samsung multifunctional printer unit, scx-4z16f, i found some threads showing how to install drivers for it, i could not get it to work.

my printer prints out blank pages, cannot scan either.

i hope someone can help me getting to work! im confident someone can!

thanks in advance everyone!

I don't see that particular model on the list of OS X supported printers:

OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669)

What driver did you install?

Patrick,

What version of OS X are you on?

Apparently the driver for the SCX-4X21 printer will work with your model under OS 10.5.

It doesn't look too promising to print and/or scan with even SL 10.6.x, or even 10.5.x, and the only recent Mac OS X drivers seem to be only available with a Mac OS install.

But that's a pretty old printer from the early 2000's. And not even Gutenprint has any print drivers for that model.

In your Print & Fax pref pane, you could try using various other drivers and see if it works any better. Sometime an alternative driver will work. ;)
