Ours is becoming more market based, while they are heading down the same road to ruin that is bankrupting most of the world. Interesting.

Well, we had better block the borders and keep the Americans out .............. and then, deport Americans who are already here back to America. That will teach them a lesson.

It makes no difference ................ it is an overt threat to our country. The sooner we kick all Americans out of Canada the better ................ and the more jobs there will be for the rest of us. Paix, mon ami.

I don't understand Americans! They don't want social programs, but they'll move to a country with lots of social programs... Well at least we still have a few left, if Harper doesn't cut them.

I'd like to say I'd move to the USA, but I would never move there.

I think really what they're saying is that if you're going to have social programs, might as well be in a country that makes it all worth it. :)

See you in St. Louis Marc.:D

The thermostat in St. Louis is forecast to hit 108 degrees today and remain above 100 through next Thursday, at least, according to the weather service.

That has prompted the city health department to remind residents to limit outdoor activities, not to leave children or pets in vehicles and to watch out for signs of heat exhaustion ............... and to head for St.John's, NL in Canada where there will be temps in the mid-70s with clean, fresh ocean breezes.

It's funny; the rightwingnuts say they'll "move to Canada" to get away from socialized medicine, illustrating how ignorant they are of how socialized we are up here. But those on the left say they'll "move to Canada" when guys like Bush get elected, because they want to escape a fascist theocracy. So Canada actually benefits when rightwingnuts like Bush get elected because of the influx of intelligent, well-educated and socially minded liberals (I know for a fact that Canada gained a bunch of excellent scientists when Bush was elected the second time). But if Obama gets elected, we'll get a bunch of gun-toting hillbillies... perhaps we should all be supporting Romney?

Canada loses, because it gets an influx of grasping weak-kneed, government dependent types. We always get a few scientists who are willing t owork for less.

The sad part of all of this is that 30-40 Million Americans who currently cannot afford health care insurance will be further impoverished by being assessed a special tax because of their inability to buy healthcare.

Course the BushObama mantra was/is and always will be: "Rob from the poor and give to the rich."

As to Americans moving here, FATCA should be fully operational by then, Flarehty has already caved. Rest assured any Americans daring to make such a move will be stripped of all their worldly possessions. They will quickly return home when they discover how cold a winter on the streets of Edmonchuk really is.

Sadly, thanks to the spineless response of Canada's finance minister, a number of innocent Canadians may become victims as well.

Back in 2001, the last of our winter's 21 feet of snow here in St.John's melted away on Canada Day.

My views are "somewhat" left, but here in St.John's, the wind blows from every direction each day, so it blows all over the flag pole each Canada Day.

Paix, mon ami.
