How this 'gay Oreo' sparked Internet outrage
snip
This week, the company posted on Facebook a picture of its famous Oreo cookie with six layers of rainbow colours replacing the trademark white centre. The advertisement was accompanied by the date June 25 and the word Pride, a recognition of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender events being held this week.
Kraft’s is the latest move in pro-gay marketing by major corporations. Last month, the Gap ran an advertisement with two men inside a T-shirt and the tagline: Be One. Ben & Jerry’s released an ice cream flavour called Apple-y Ever After, with a container showing a rainbow cake and two grooms on the top of it.
And earlier this year, JC Penney stood firmly behind its new spokeswoman Ellen DeGeneres, despite being denounced by right-wing groups such as One Million Moms.

dona83 Jun 27th, 2012, 06:41 PM That would be a lot of saturated fat and sugar in one cookie.
Why are some people so threatened? I live my life my way and I'll let everyone else live their lives their way.
lol @ One Million Moms.

Truly a strange bird. Thankfully greed saved me from the doom of an Oreo wasteline. Nabisco raised the price way beyond my meager financial means.
Macfury Jun 28th, 2012, 01:20 PM Yawn. This is so last decade.

I read about this awesome ad last week, posted on Facebook by my Christian friend. As a Christian, I shared it with others.
Don't paint everyone with the same brush please. :)

One bad apple does not a barrel make, but the story focus was on American Christians and I stand by my comment referring to them. They are a whole different kettle of fish in their attitudes towards the gay community. I am glad to know your variety isn't in agreement with them.

bryanc Jun 28th, 2012, 02:42 PM Several of the gay people I met in the US were Christians. But there's no denying that the US is home to a large number of extremely noxious homophobic breeds of Christianity, and that they get a lot of attention down there. Truly pathetic creatures, but very dangerous in large groups.

This is what I referred to in my comment.
macintosh doctor Jun 28th, 2012, 05:00 PM like I always said.. unless you are a politician - don't . [ that goes for actors and other celebrities..- its a career ender ]
very simple..
if your in the business of business.. keep your thoughts to yourself or you will lose..
Oreo should of just kept it to themselves..
oh well lesson learned I hope for them..
BTW - I wish people do not lop a whole group [ in this case religion] based on a few, because we all know how that ended up [ racial profiling and no fly lists ]
I am Christian and church going. You don't see me ranting and raving over a cookie? LOL [Every group has a bunch of bad 'cookies' in them LOL ]
