What can I say amazing and thrilling to watch..
I am impressed..
something that will never happen again in my lifetime or possibly my kids..
only negative I have to say is that ABC, pissed me off when they showed the international boarder line.. - boy were they off.. actually the whole horse shoe falls is Canadian.. they made it like it was all theirs. LOL damn Americans.
The Canadian Crossing guards were a comedy routine - trying to speak french..
really?!? does anyone care ? nope a guy just walked across the falls faster than I can cross in my car LOL
only other error in broadcast was they said no one else has ever done it.. but they are wrong
James Hardy in 1896 did it..
krs Jun 15th, 2012, 11:51 PM James Hardy tight rope walked across the Niagara River gorge, not the falls.

ya I did some googling and I was wrong.. but at least I know my international border lines LOL and my french is way better than those two boarder guards ;)
Joker Eh Jun 15th, 2012, 11:57 PM I would rather watch a snail cross the road

Ok, but you might want to wear reflective clothing.
rgray Jun 16th, 2012, 05:43 AM ......... Safety tether.....
Shakespeare had the best line - "Much ado about nothing."
Look up Blondini. He was the real deal.

+1
Paint drying would be equally intriguing.
fjnmusic Jun 16th, 2012, 10:46 AM It was amazing to see a simple good news story get so much press coverage for a change.
Macfury Jun 16th, 2012, 10:58 AM I thought the event was harmless fun. A stunt for sure, but Wallenda's message of pursuing one's dreams and facing challenges head-on were very positive.

Wallenda didn't want to wear a safety tether ABC forced him to use it or they wouldn't cover it. In fact he had never used one before and had to run several practice runs on a wire using it so he could get used to it.
I think Wallenda is the "real deal" being that he has been high wire walking practically since he took his first steps. Hardly much ado about nothing...

okay I will give you $1000 for you to cross with a tether - and we will see who pee's themselves.
Yes many have high wired before - but I dare you to do anything like this and then comment.
Cant wait for him to do grand canyon.. that would be something.. he said it is already in the works.. :)
tilt Jun 17th, 2012, 09:50 AM Nik is part of "The Flying Wallendas", an entire family who, for generations, were stunt performers. They have always performed stunts without safety nets or such. Therefore I can understand how humiliating it would have been for Nik to be forced to wear the tether.
Cheers

But don't let it confuse you to think it made the walk easier, it did nothing to increase his balance.
slipstream Jun 17th, 2012, 05:32 PM Even with a tether a fall would have been dreadful. Not an easy rescue. His feat is no less remarkable with a tether. Bravo.
