When I am at my desk I have my Late 2010 13" MBP lid closed and connected to a monitor. I would like to use a web cam with my mac.

I have looked at Logitech but many of their good HD webcams don't have support for Mac. Is there other makes I can use?

Looking for suggestions.

By lots of cash I thought you meant $200, which is how much I bought my original iSight camera for.

$38? That's an awesome deal for a 2 MP camera built into a high quality condenser microphone.

Amazon.com: Blue Microphones Eyeball 2.0 HD Audio and Video Webcam with Microphone: Electronics (http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Microphones-Eyeball-2-0-Microphone/dp/B002OHOF08)

Speaking of which, I gotta get one of the Blue Mic units, my m-Audio Nova mic and MobilePre amplifier setup is great but not as convenient.

I was going to mention using macam that I used years ago with our G4 MDD and an old Logitech PC "only" webcam, and I see it's now free, but I'd suggest the later supported webcams such as the suggested macally 2.0 Megapixel with Built In Mic Webcam would be a much better solution.
