I am trying to transfer pictures I have taken with the camera on iPod to my iMac. The instructions are to go to Apps and select the app that you want to transfer from. Problem is that everything is grayed out and I can't select any apps. If I go to sync apps then I can see the icons ok. But no camera appears in file sharing, this only shows Google earth.

If I try to sync the apps to the iPod then apps I have purchased from the App store do not appear on the right menu, so I am afraid to sync and lose these purchased apps.

How do I get the pictures from Camera Roll to my iMac with all the apps I currently have?

Have you tried opening iPhoto and importing from the camera? it should be automatic. There is an option to delete photos from the camera card once imported - I suggest you do NOT delete the photos until you are 100% sure they are imported to the computer, and you have burned a backup DVD of the photos.

Yesss! I plugged in the iPod then started up iPhoto and the pictures came up automatically. Thanks for the great tip about iPhoto.
