I'm looking for Cardbus or even PCMCIA card that will fit into my Titanium Power Book G4. The plain old Airport card inside is only wireless b and doesn't like WPA2. So I'd like something a bit more modern that will work. As long as it wireless G or even wireless N; that'd be kinda cool it it was N...

I'm assuming people here would know if it works with a Mac a little bit better than "the guy on Kijiji thats never touched a Mac" would know ;)

Try this one (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Belkin-F5D8013-N-Wireless-300Mbps-CardBus-Notebook-Adapter-Card-NW-BK-WL-F5D8013-/290734958816?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item43b12768e0). I bought this from Ebay. The version 3.000 uses a RaLink chip, and drivers for the Mac are available on their website. Look for the file STA_RT2860D-1.2.2.0UI-3.0.0.0_2010_05_18.dmg, which contains drivers for 10.5, 10.4, and 10.3. I've tried it, and it will give you wireless N. :) If it's easier, I can email the drivers to you; it's a small file.

Thanks! Using that link I found one a few bucks cheaper at the sellers own site! I'll go check out the Belkin site in a bit

Oh.. btw... do I need to pull the existing Airport Card out of the TiBook for the CardBus card to work?

You'll find the drivers on Ralink's site (http://www.ralinktech.com/en/04_support/support.php?sn=502). Look for the second one, the one for the RT2860. On the Belkin site, they don't list Mac support, but the Ralink drivers work. Once I installed the drivers, I then had to go to System Preferences and Network to get them recognized. I did pull the Airport Card, since I was in doing work anyway, but I think you can just disable it in software.

I bought two recently, and installed one in a Ti 1ghz (Leopard) and the other in a Ti 400 (Tiger). Both appear (so far) to be working well.

Just got it in the mail and it works great! Took some doing to log onto my wifi (I forgot I canned the password!) But yeah other than that.... it gets a speed of about 21.5 Mbps compared to m MBP sitting a foot beside it who gets 21.8 Mbps.I'm pretty surprised at that actually! Great recommendation Mike!
