Maybe they are adding the Nest to the store. Apple Store now selling Nest Thermostat: automated toastiness to cost $250 -- Engadget (http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/30/nest-thermostat-pricing-apple-store/)

No. Look at the times between updates.

I thought they might have introduced new product to coincide with the wwdc next week.

Back up. Can't see a difference.

I was at physical store about a month ago looking at the 27 imac and the rep said "wink - wink nod" not to buy and think again in about 30 days. According to that coded wink the iMacs should be getting an upgrade. We were quizzing him hard on monitor connections - it looks like the new generation will be saying bye to DVI etc and going Thunderbolt and HDMI only.

While I agree with what you heard regarding an imminent iMac refresh, apple retail store staff are generally kept in the dark on such matters until the very last minute for precisely this reason... That said they are just as capable of reading the various apple rumor sites as anyone else on the net. But in general they have no special insider knowledge.

They really don't know until perhaps the night before. Sometimes, the day before, new products arrive--sealed tight with special seals. Signage goes up overnight, then the new products are opened overnight. Simply put, store employees know no more than you, usually until the store opens, unless they work that overnight shift.

But it's a safe bet to know 'something' is coming soon, and people are betting on all Thunderbolt, and even on Retina displays throughout the product line. Apple wants these, but nobody knows when.

haha there has been no "DVI" connection of any sort on any iMac since like mid 2008. the early 09 iMacs and everything since has only had MDP and thunderbolt
