I haven't kept up with the buy/sell of iPhones, but I'm considering getting a corporate deal with Rogers on the iPhone 4S by end May. It's an amazing deal and Fido, my current provider cannot come close to matching it.

If I go for the Rogers deal and want to sell my 4S after the iPhone 5 comes out, here are my questions:
-how do I buy an iPhone 5 and would it be ~$700?
-can I easily sell a few months old iPhone 4S for $350 or so?
-is this all worth it??!!

I've heard Rogers' customer service is horrible, like Telus but that was 2-3 years ago. Any advice on Rogers vs. Fido customer service? Fido has had their share of screwing up billing but have given credits and deals to make up for it, so I've been pretty happy with them, outside of some dropped calls.

Cant really comment on Rogers customer service... In my mind all our providers are about the same level of crap in that department, as for selling the 4S when the next iPhone comes out it should be fairly easy on kijiji. As a point of reference I sold my unlocked 32gb iPhone 4 for $400 shortly after the 4s came out... Exactly how much you can get depends on where you are, if it's locked or not and storage, but I'd expect $350 should be reasonable... And lastly the new iPhone unlocked from apple likely will start around 750... I'd buy unlocked from apple as Rogers will charge the same that early in a contract, but lock it.

One last note, with the number or purported leaks lately I'm betting we wont be waiting too much longer till the next iPhone is announced/released(my guess is late July), so unless the deal on the plan from Rogers is really that good, and definitely won't be available later I would wait...

Hi,

I found Rogers customer service not that bad, but I may have had a good amount fo luck based on what I hear around. They allowed me to upgrade to the iPhone 4 from my 3G althgough I only had it for one year and a few months, instead of the customary 2 years. And usually I have the answers I need from them.

Frankly, I would wait until the iPhone 5, which should be late july (if you wait in line) or september (if delayed/too popular and you're adverse to lineups). Unless the plan is so good that along the course of like 2 years you've reimbursed the $400 you'll lose during the upgrade.

Selling a locked iPhone 4S would I guess net you around $300-400, and I think it should be fairly simple. I know some friends roam the classifieds around the launch of a new device to buy the old one.
