: Strange surplus images/photos in iPhoto '11

I got a call from a new client that needed help removing some surplus goofy images/photos in his iPhoto '11, and his only default iphoto library.

Mid 2007-2008 24" iMac running Lion 10.7.4 with only 2GB RAM - a bit of a painful experience that he'll soon fix.

He said the problem started after installing the Canon software from the included CD/DVD for his newly purchased Canon EOS Rebel T3i camera, which I doubt as the CD/DVD installed software hadn't been updated to actually run and work and be compatible with Mac OS 10.7.4.

But as I gather, when he followed some of the directions and connected his camera, iPhoto took over with his attempt to download the some 900 photos on the camera when he noticed all the goofy images and photos.

The goofy images when viewed in 'Events' included such events as: german.lprog, portugese.lproj, and a few 'resources' images and a few hundreds of separate photos images of various titled 'Resources' from applications such as many from Angry Birds and others that isn't even installed on the iMac.

In all, over 18,000+ goofy images were finally deleted after various frozen iPhoto force quit/restart attempts I gather was due to the lack of sufficient RAM.

But the main question is - why did so many goofy image stuff get into his iPhoto library in the first place??

And he also has an iPad that he was syncing, and I suspect that may be part of the problem.

It seems that something, somehow, grabbed every single image available and put it into his user iphoto library.

Quite a strange situation and occurrence!!

Any suggestions as to the cause or any how or why answers??

Hmmm...??? I don't think so, unless Lion and iPhoto '11 do things differently.

I just tried various imports with SL and iPhoto '09, and all apps etc. are greyed out, and that's where all the "Resource" and various images and stuff is kept.
