I haven't tried Urbanears, but these (http://www.ehmac.ca/everything-else-eh/94921-your-last-non-mac-related-purchase-3.html#post1095757) work rather well for me - they don't fall out and are moisture resistant.

I've heard the much-ado-about-nothing debate that seems to exist over the use of headphones while running. Sheesh. These people are grouped (IMO) with those who obsess over which way the toilet roll should hang.

Any reasonably intelligent person can manage the safety concerns. As far as whether or not one is considered a "serious" runner if they use headphones....?

Well, most times, I just don't give a shrimp. However, I note that many organized runs (competitive and/or for charity) are prohibiting their use.

I hate the dangling cord when I run so I typically just crank the volume on my iphone when i run which is loud enough and still allows me to hear what's going on around me. I'm usually running on back roads alone though so its not like i'm bothering others around me.

I am going to go into the apple store tomorrow and check them out. I have to choose something. Can you return earphones?

Bose® MIE2i Mobile Headset

Normally I am not a fan of anything Bose but not only is the earpiece really well designed but so is the jack.

After having a set of earphones and another set of headphones jack get bent causing an intermittent connection I went with these and the jack show no signs of going the route of the others. They are very comfortable and stay in place really well. They are 2.5x the price of the ones you are looking at though.

So I picked up the Urbanears Medis PLUS headphones at the Apple store on May 19th. I have used them and they stayed in my ear and felt very comfortable and sound fine. Well all was fine until Thursday last week. Now all of sudden the volume up and down buttons don't work and when I finish my jog and remove the headphones the iPhone seems to think that the headphones are still inside. I have to use an air can to blow into the headphone port on the phone to get the iPhone working normally.

I also noticed that the metal part of the jack on the headphone looks black like there has been arcing inside the jack port.

I am disappointed because these were really comfortable to wear while jogging. I am going to return them on Saturday as that is the last day for return stated on invoice.

Interesting update.
Any damage to the phone?

Well not that I can tell. I won't be using them anymore. I have read reports on the Apple support forums with the same issues like the phone thinking the headphones are still in the jack.

I bought a ipod shuffle and used it for my training runs, decided not to use it after a couple runs. Want to listen to my own breathing and how my feet stride the pathway. Also want to engage in conversation when I run with a group of runners

Well I returned the UrbanEars and traded them for the Yurbuds Ironman set on a recommendation from an Apple store employee. So far so good. The buds stay in the ear well. The sound is not that great as it sounds very muffed (?). You have to turn the volume right down as the setting you used before can blow out your ear drums. I suspect it is because of the design of the ear piece.

The good thing is that there a lifetime warrenty with these after Apple own 2 week return policy.

I have tried those type and they hurt after a short while and they are expensive. You are paying for the name.

The Yurbuds i was told are used by most who jog/run. They are water resistant and stay in the ear.

The ones you linked to you would have to jam in your ear and the may fall out when you sweat.

Awesome, thanks. Although my husbands ears are pretty big so he doesn't seem to be have that trouble (athough I myself can't wear any in ear headphones) I'll look into the ones you reccomend :)
