I have been thinking about this for some time, as I see more and more people with Android and even WP7 phones with large screens I have been wondering if I want a larger screen on my iPhone, but I just got back from CTIA and looking at the new HTC ONE phones and holding my iPhone beside it I can tell you that the iPhone looks like a little baby phone, I hope this is true as a larger screen would be nice.

I remember the good old times when phone companies where competing on making the smallest phone, now it's the bigger the better, and Im not sure how I feel about that, I wouldnt mind an extra inch or so, but I hope this thing won't get out of hand, I like the intimate feeling of having the iPhone fitting in my grip.. And I didn't like the galaxy nexus or the note.. But I'm only one man..

ha ha MacUnited I could not agree more, I recall getting a new job many years ago and my boss had the biggest ego and had just purchased a new cell phone that was so small he had to phicically move it from his ear to his mouth when talking on it, I laughed and said "you spent how much on that stupid tiny phone!"

But having said that we do so much more on our phones now then talk, I think a bit of a bigger screen would be nice, so a 3.8 or 4" will be a nice addition, but ya I don't want a mini tablet to carry around all the time, the note is a joke, and to be honest I can't belive how many they are selling!

If the screen gets bigger I might just get the 4S to replace my 4...

I like the current screen size a lot.

Current iPhone is 3.5", rumor is 4". I'm both keen and apprehensive about the *rumored* screen size increase. I'd have to see the product. If they reduced the bezel they could increase the screen size without significantly altering the all round size of the phone (which, at present, I think is perfect).

I have used 4" and 4.3" screens and I hated them.

I don't want an iPad in my pocket.

I don't think a 4" screen would be bad. I'd like it if it could display more things in portrait mode. It'd be nice to not have to tilt the phone into landscape to read stuff. Also if the keyboard was kept the same size; there would be more screen real estate above it to work with.

Also slightly larger phone, plus continues miniaturization of "guts" would provide for a larger battery capacity I hope.

Also they could make a sort of "jumbo" mode. Whereby people who may find it difficult to use the smallish buttons onscreen could make them larger. For example my Grandmother has an iPad 2 and loves it. But she hates the iPhones tiny keyboard etc.

Well just my 2 cents.

Resolution also has to be taken into consideration. A larger screen size at the current resolution will dilute Apple's claims of a retina display, but a larger screen at an increased resolution will further complicate matters for app developers (beyond the four resolutions supported by iOS today). Maybe a change in aspect ratio is in the offing?

I brought up to my wife the other day about the rumored 7" iPad.

She said "why are they making tablets smaller, and phones bigger, shouldn't it be the other way around" My mind was blown with that comment, as she is not very tech orientated at all.

I would like to see the new iPhone at 3.8" I am sure it would make a lot of difference, and not use a lot of extra battery.
