: iPhone 4 - Stuck sleep button

I've had my iPhone 4 since launch, and recently the sleep button has become stuck. By stuck, I mean that it can't be pressed down at all. This didn't coincide with any falls, drops, bumps, etc...it just happened out of the blue.

I've seen that this has happened to a lot of other people on the net; since my iPhone would be out of the manufacturer's warranty, am I screwed? Or would Apple, with their marvelous customer service, be willing to replace it?

Any advice would be much appreciated. I was thinking about scheduling an appointment at an Apple Store soon, but would like an idea of what to expect...

not that this is any help but I had the same issue with my 4s took it in to the Apple Store and they replaced it for me, but not sure about out of warranty.

But hey if the cost is high the 5 (or new iPhone) will be out right away

They charge a flat $169 rate for out of warranty iPhone 4 fixes (replacements), $229 for iPhone 4S.

Thanks. So at this point, I may was well wait until the next iPhone is released since I'll be able to upgrade come July.
