Since replacing my MBP Superdrive with an SSD, I'm having trouble with playing some DVD's. I tried copying over the VIDEO_TS folder to my drive since I can't seem to work with the files on the DVD. All I get when trying to copy over the folder is "insufficient privileges." VLC will play most of them, but I'd like to get them down to size for my iPad. Is this a copyright issue?

I do it all the time with Handbrake. If I own the DVD and want to make it playable on my iPad or iPhone, I don't feel like I am breaking any copyright.

Overview here is pretty good:

Actually, I totally forgot about Handbrake of which I am using right now. Thanks.

Just to let you know Handbrake does not decrypt movies. So if a DVD is encrypted handbrake will fail.

Yep, that's why I included the link which outlines other programs to address that issue. ;)
