I bought my Airport right around when they first came out. What a miracle! Anyway just wondering if I should upgrade to enjoy watching Netflixs? I have Sympatico high Speed (phone line not fiber)
Also, bell keeps trying to push me into fiber, but I have unlimited with my current contract. Are they trying to trick me into getting a service they know I will start to incur data charges. My wife watches a lot of streaming TV.

Yes, the new Airport routers are better.
Yes, Bell is trying to push you into something that will incur charges quickly and efficiently (for Bell).
I gave up unlimited Bell since the speed was capped ridiculously low and tested lower. Teksavvy (switched to cable from DSL but they're both fine) costs half, has no contract, and while I pay for Express 12mbps rather than Extreme 25mbps my speeds are usually 20-50mbps. The download "cap" is a soft cap, at 300GB per month. But in Toronto, it's _unmeasured_ so there is effectively NO download cap. Should they start measuring in Toronto, overage costs $0.50 per GB or so, vs. overage from the big providers which costs 40 times that, and commences at way lower download caps.
See if they have Teksavvy in your neighbourhood.

What is it about your current Extreme that you would like to improve upon?

How do you know it's an Extreme?

No, it is not an extreme, just the original airport. It is working well, but wondering if it is limiting the rest of the system?

the original airport express.. 802.11b/g should do 2mb/s just fine, which is about 16mbit off the internet. I don't see why you would change since your old unlimited DSL maxes at 5mbit depending where you live.

What computer system do you have currently.
Just a little more information.
(This will tell us the Airport (b/g/n) in you machine and the power to handle the data that is coming to it)
My 2¢
You don't have to get the Extreme Base Station, you could just get the Airport Express only $99.00 :greedy:
